Happy Easter

We had a wonderful Easter weekend. Ethan and I baked cookies Saturday afternoon. He enjoyed decorating them but he liked eating them more. Then, Saturday evening after the boys took their bath, we colored Easter eggs. Jacob couldn't stand that he had to just sit and watch. He wanted so badly to get in on the action. Next year little guy!

We woke up this morning and went to breakfast at Nana and Papa Long's house. Then, we headed over to church for an Easter egg hunt before the service. Jacob actually did a pretty good job of picking up the eggs and putting them in his basket and Ethan cleaned house.

I tried to make sure that Ethan knew the true meaning behind Easter this year and that it wasn't just about the Easter Bunny and candy. I bought him a cute little book about Jesus and how he died for us. After I read it to him, he ran in to tell Nana Long that Easter was about God's son. I have to say, he made me very proud. At three, he doesn't totally grasp the concept but at least I know he listened as I was reading the story.
